چکیده

Tunneling conductance spectra between a normal metal / d-wave superconductor junction under the presence of bulk impurities in the superconductor are studied. The quasiclassical theory has been applied to calculate the spatial variation of the pair potential and the effect of impurity scattering has been introduced by t-matrix approximation. The magnitude of a subdominant s-wave component at the interface is shown to robust against the impurity scattering while that for a subdominant dxy-wave component is largely suppressed with the increase of the impurity scattering rate. The zero-bias conductance peak due to the zero-energy Andreev bound states is significantly broadened for the case of Born limit impurity compared with that of unitary limit impurity.

Tunneling conductance of normal metal / dx2−y2-wave superconductor junctions in the presence of broken time reversal symmetry states near interfaces

In order to clarify the influence of (the presence of) the broken time-reversal symmetry state (BTRSS) induced near the interface, tunneling conductance spectra in normal metal / dx2−y2-wave superconductor junctions are calculated on the basis of the quasiclassical Green’s function method. The spatial dependence of the pair potential in the superconductor side is determined self-consistently. W...

Resonant proximity effect in normal metal/diffusive ferromagnet/superconductor junctions

Resonant proximity effect in the normal metal/insulator/diffusive ferromagnet/insulator/swave and d-wave superconductor N/I/DF/I/S junctions is studied for various regimes by solving the Usadel equation with the generalized boundary conditions. Conductance of the junction and the density of states in the DF layer are calculated as a function of the insulating barrier heights at the interfaces, ...

Spin-polarized proximity effect in superconducting junctions

We study spin dependent phonomena in superconducting junctions in both ballistic and diffusive regimes. For ballistic junctions we study both ferromagnet / sand d-wave superconductor junctions and two dimensional electron gas / s-wave superconductor junctions with Rashba spin-orbit coupling. It is shown that the exchange field alway suppresses the conductance while the Rashba spin-orbit couplin...

Zero bias conductance peak (ZBCP) is known to occur in junctions between normal metal and conventional superconductor. This phenomenon is conventionally explained by Andreev reflection of the tunneling electrons at the interface and the ZBCP

normal metal and conventional superconductor. This phenomenon is conventionally explained by Andreev reflection of the tunneling electrons at the interface and the ZBCP height is limited to less than double of the normal conductance at higher bias. However, BSCCO is different from other conventional superconductors because of the d-wave characteristics of the order parameter. There are several ...

Zero Bias Conductance Peak Enhancement in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8/Pb Tunneling Junctions

We found strong zero bias conductance peak enhancement in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 by tunneling in the ab-plane direction. Our results are consistent with recent studies on Andreev reflection between a d-wave superconductor and normal metal. We have also observed exotic behaviors of the conductance peak if the counter electrode is a conventional superconductor. If these characteristics are better understo...
